HIGHLIGHTED PROJECT United Way of the BC: Developmental and Summative Evaluation

Higher Needs, funded by the Ministry of Health, is a program that integrates community-based services to provide supports for isolated older adults and caregivers so they can stay connected in their communities.

Using a mixed methods approach, Howegroup has designed the evaluation in collaboration with health utilization researchers from UBC and in alignment with the United Way’s Learning and Quality Assurance Plan. The purpose of the evaluation is to assess and communicate the effects and changes resulting from the Higher Needs Program on the people and communities it is designed to serve (40+ programs across BC). Results from the evaluation will support accountability, quality improvement, and ongoing learning and adaptation as well as align with the Ministry of Health’s Triple Aim approach to building health systems.
